The HPLC light scattering detector (ELSD / Evaporative Light Scattering Detector) as a universal detector provides a variety of applications in pharmaceutical analysis.

 
Light scattering detectors are ideal for universal studies, since no influence of the UV-absorption and varying extinction coefficients or low mass sensitivities of analytical compounds is present.

The detection mode of the PL-ELS 2100 is high sensitive for semi-volatile compounds. A very low detection limit of this compound group can be realized by the low evaporation temperature.

Besides water, solvents and mixtures thereof can be used as eluents without taking into account their UV transmittance.
