Characterization of bacterial and fungal isolates using DNA fingerprinting

By means of molecular biological typing (DNA fingerprinting), bacterial and fungal isolates can be characterised down to strain level. This helps to trace contamination paths in the context of environmental monitoring and to detect scattering sources. This method can also be used in the biotechnological industry for quality control of starter cultures with strain-specific properties.

As a GMP-certified laboratory, we are familiar with the needs of clients from the pharmaceutical and food industry. BioChem offers a wide range of PCR-based methods for strain comparison of bacterial and fungal isolates.

We offer:

  • performance and, if necessary, client-specific validation in the GMP-regulated environment
  • extensive experience in the typing of microorganisms from the pharmaceutical sector
  • processing time within one working week*
  • gel images with the DNA fingerprints of the tested isolates are provided in a report

* may be extended if the isolates are subcultivated (especially for fungi).

Your advantages:

  • client knowledge of the isolates’ DNA sequence is not necessary
  • simply fresh cultures of the isolates must be provided by the client
